小寒
新春を迎え、恵那山麓は穏やかな松の内を過ごしています。二十四節気の小寒を迎え、暦の上では「寒の入り」となりました。春に向けて寒さが一段と厳しくなる時期ですが、今年の恵那山麓はどこか穏やかです。
黒松 赤松 五葉松
この季節、恵那山麓の道を歩くと、パチン、パチンと小気味よい音が聞こえてきます。植木屋さんが松の剪定に精を出している音です。誰かが職人を呼べば「次はうちもお願い」と声がかかり、一軒一軒の庭が整っていく。そんな数珠繋ぎの光景は、この土地の冬の風物詩でもあります。
古い葉を丁寧に落とし、込み合った枝を整理して形を整える。その作業を眺めていると、不思議とこちらの頭の中までスッキリと透き通っていくような感覚を覚えます。
古来、松は神様が空から降りてくる際の目印だと信じられてきました。その名は、神様が降臨するのを「待つ」に由来するという説が有力です。お正月の門松が神様を迎えるアンテナであるように、庭に根を張る松もまた、家へと福を導く大切な役割を担っています。
厳しい冬でも青々とした葉を絶やさない松は、永遠の命や再生の象徴です。その鋭い針のような葉で邪気を払い、家族の健康を願う。剪定されたばかりの美しい松の姿には、凛とした強さを感じます。移住先を見つける時、あるいは家を決める時、こうした「松のある庭」の佇まいに心惹かれることもあるでしょう。
「ゑなの結」では冬至を年の始まりと捉え、昨年末に「新春を結ぶしめ縄の手習い」と題して、ワークショップを開催しました。自らの手で藁を綯い、そこに清々しい松を添える。自分たちの手で年神様を迎える準備を整える時間は、暮らしの背筋が伸びるような、豊かなひとときとなりました。こうした手習いを、これから毎年地域の大切な習慣として継続していきたいと考えています。
整えられた庭や、手作りのしめ縄。それらは、ここに住まう人々の心の鏡。 今年も、この豊かな恵那山麓の営みが、健やかに結ばれていきます。
Shoukan(Little Cold)
With the new year upon us, the foot of Mt. Ena enjoys the peaceful season of pine trees. This marks the beginning of winter according to the calendar, marking the beginning of winter.
Pine
At this time of year, walking along the roads at the foot of Mt. Ena, you can hear the pleasant sound of trees snapping. This is the sound of gardeners hard at work pruning pine trees. Since ancient times, pine trees have been believed to be landmarks for gods as they descend from the sky. One widely accepted theory is that the name derives from the phrase “waiting” for the gods to descend. When looking for a place to move to, some people may be drawn to the sight of a “garden with pine trees.” Enanoyui” held a shimenawa (sacred rope) making workshop. Participants braided straw with their own hands and added pine trees. The time spent preparing to welcome the New Year’s deity with their own hands was a fulfilling moment that stretched their spine. We hope to continue this handicraft practice as an important local custom every year.
ゑなの結とは
私たちは恵那山のふもとでフリーペーパーを発行している任意団体です。本当の意味で“誰一人取り残されない”のは季節の移り変わりではないでしょうか。また美しい自然から、地域の強みや魅力を教えられているのは、私たちだとも感じています。 心を豊かにするこの地域のひとときを二十四節氣とともに発信。そしてこの地のスタートアップから、インタビューや寄稿を通したコンテンツは、恵那山の頂きより「ヤッホー！」と叫ぶように、多くの人々に届いたらいいなと思っています。
We are a voluntary organization that publishes free papers at the foot of Mt. Ena. Isn't it the change of seasons that truly means that no one is left behind? I also feel that we are the ones who are taught the strengths and charms of the region by the beautiful nature. We will transmit a moment of this region that enriches the mind with 24 seasons. And I hope that the content through interviews and contributions from startups in this area will reach as many people as possible like shouting "Yo-ho!" from the top of Mt. Ena.
