小暑
「小さく暑い」と書く、小暑。恵那山麓では瑞々しい夏野菜が出回り始めました。大地が育んだ夏野菜の鮮やかな色彩に、本格的な季節の到来を実感する頃です。これからやってくる夏に向けて、今年はどこへ行こうかと、胸を躍らせながら予定を立てている方も多いのではないでしょうか。
飯地テント村の小道
古来、偉人たちは「歩くこと」で思索を深め、新たな価値を生み出してきました。そうはいっても、山間部に暮らしていると「どこを歩いても同じような景色」と感じてしまうことがあるかもしれません。住み慣れた家の近所ももちろんですが、少しだけ移動して、知らなかった場所や普段は通らない道へ出かけてみる。すると、同じ恵那山のふもとであっても風の香りや光の入り方が異なり、そこには「違い」と新鮮な驚きが息づいていることに気づかされます。
そんな夏の始まりに私が訪れたのが、「飯地高原自然テント村」です。標高はおよそ600メートル。暮らす人々も600人ほどという小さな飯地町は、まさに「天空の町」。周囲から少し隔絶されたこの閉じた立地こそが、何よりの強みです。華やかな城下町でもなく、往来の激しい宿場町でもない。そこには、ただ純粋な自然と静寂が織りなす、この地ならではの誇り高き魅力があります。
森に誘うように手入れされた小道へ足を踏み入れると、緑の天蓋から美しい木漏れ日が降り注ぎます。太陽の強い日差しは木々に優しく遮られ、耳を澄ませば初夏を告げる蝉の声と、清らかに流れる水の音。木々の根元に目を向ければ、立派なクワガタが静かに佇んでいることも。光と影が織りなす小道を、ただゆっくりと歩く――それは、現代を生きる私たちにとって何にも代えがたい贅沢な時間ではないでしょうか。
小暑の恵那山麓は、五感を揺さぶる恵みに満ちています。旬の夏野菜で身体に活力を満たしたら、ぜひ天空の町・飯地の小道へと歩みを進めてみてください。歩くことでしか出会えない、特別な夏がそこから始まります。

At the foot of Mount Ena, fresh summer vegetables have begun to appear in the markets. The vivid colors of these vegetables, nurtured by the earth, make us truly feel that the season has arrived in earnest.
A Path Through Iiji Tent Village
Since ancient times, great minds have deepened their thoughts and created new value through “walking.”
Even at the foot of the same Mount Ena, the scent of the wind and the way the light filters through differ, reminding us that “differences” and fresh surprises are alive there.
It was at the start of such a summer that I visited the “Iiji Highlands Natural Tent Village.” Located at an elevation of about 600 meters, the small town of Iiji—home to only about 600 residents—is truly a “town in the sky.” Its secluded location, somewhat isolated from the surrounding area, is its greatest strength. There, woven from pure nature and silence, lies a proud charm unique to this place.
As you step onto the well-maintained path that seems to beckon you into the forest, beautiful sunlight filters through the green canopy. Simply walking slowly along this path, where light and shadow intertwine—isn’t that an irreplaceable luxury for us living in the modern world?
